In the dead of winter, those walking past the football offices at Capital and Ohio Dominican after sunset or at sunrise would have noticed plenty of activity.
Chad Rogosheske and Kelly Cummings were weeks into their first year as coaches at the universities, and there wasn’t a day to waste despite kickoff being months away.
Rogosheske left his alma mater, Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota, to begin a rebuilding job of a Capital team that finished 3-7 in each of the previous three seasons under Craig Candeto.
Cummings had been defensive coordinator at Ohio Dominican since 2013 and merely had to change offices when Bill Conley and the administration couldn’t agree on terms of a new contract.
