The Bowling Green athletic department released a statement today reading that some football players were praying and not protesting when they knelt in an end zone before a game against Ohio State on Saturday in Ohio Stadium.

The team was within 100 feet of the flag pole at the north end of the stadium at facing it when the national anthem was being played by the Ohio State band and the color guard was raising the flag.

Approximately six Bowling Green players were on one knee during the anthem. All but one eventually rose before the end of the anthem.
