College baseball: Illinois powers past Ohio in NCAA tournament

Jake Miller had a rough start Friday in Ohio’s first NCAA baseball tournament appearance since 1997, and the Bobcats lost to regional host Illinois 10-3.

Miller, a Westerville North graduate, allowed six runs and six hits in two innings, walked two and had no strikeouts. Ohio (36-20) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI groundout by Jake Madsen. Illinois (48-8-1), which won the Big Ten regular-season title, tied the score in the bottom half, but the Bobcats made it 2-1 in the second on a home run by John Adryan.
