Chris Ash takes Rutgers head coaching job: Will Ohio State’s defense suffer?

No one can blame Chris Ash for leaving Ohio State. He has been an assistant at schools such as Wisconsin, Arkansas and now Ohio State for some time; it only makes sense that he would jump at an opportunity to run his own program.

This new job will definitely bring with it some challenges. Rutgers is in a complete rebuilding process after firing both coach Kyle Flood, and athletic director Julie Hermann. Ash will be walking into a Rutgers athletics program that is currently a mess off-the-field too, with issues involving academic compliance as well as coaches physically abusing players in recent years.
