ST. LOUIS — Once again, a St. Louis Cardinals catcher beat up on the Cincinnati Reds. This time, however, it was Eric Fryer, a Reynoldsburg native and Ohio State product, not All-Star Yadier Molina.
Making his first start and playing for another Reynoldsburg graduate in manager Mike Matheny, Fryer had three hits, including the game-winner in the Reds’ 4-3 loss to St. Louis on Sunday.
Fryer was 3 for 3 with two doubles, two RBI and a walk. His final hit came off Reds reliever Ross Ohlendorf in the eighth inning, scoring Aledmys Diaz for the go-ahead run.
