In Ohio State’s last two National Championship seasons, 2002 and 2014, nobody gave the Buckeyes much of a chance to win the title. In each case, the so called experts thought the teams Ohio State had to play were too talented. But what they failed to realize was, the Buckeyes were the best “team”.
The National Championship Trophy is not awarded to the University that has the most talent on the field, but to the best team on the field. Sometimes it’s one and the same, and sometimes it isn’t.
One team that comes to mind, the 2002 Miami Hurricanes, was said to be the most talented team in the history of college football.
