On Wednesday night, the No. 16 Ohio State Buckeyes men’s basketball team welcomed No. 10 Villanova to Columbus for the first time ever as part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games, part of the annual match-up between the Big Ten and the Big East. In one of the most high-profile home games since head coach Chris Holtmann took the reigns in Columbus, the Buckeyes came out hot early, hitting their first three 3-pointers en route to a quick 9-0 lead. The Buckeyes paired their hot shooting with tenacious, lockdown defense to frustrate a Villanova team which typically has their way with their opponents.
