Having been born and raised in southwestern Ohio, I've spent the last week pleading with anyone who will listen to please, for the love of God, take the Cincinnati game seriously. I was worried that a competent Bearcats team and a lackadaisical effort from Ohio State could spell an upset and turn a 40ish mile radius around the Queen City into a Mad Maxian hellscape for any Buckeye fan unfortunate enough to live there.
It turns out I had it backwards. As much as we love Luke Fickell, his Bearcats were sloppy and bad (including and especially on defense), and Ryan Day's Buckeyes were sharp as a finely honed Hanzo steel blade.
