Early on Tuesday morning, Reid Carrico, the fifth-rated player in Ohio for the 2021 recruiting cycle announced that he will be staying home, and will join the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Ironton inside linebacker is the 126th ranked player nationally and third at his position, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. In the 247Sports-specific rankings, he is 34th nationally, and first in Ohio.
The 6-foot-3, 225 pounder held offers from Clemson, Alabama, LSU, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas, and nearly two dozen other top schools. Al Washington led Carrico’s recruitment.
