Wherever Ohio State fans have gathered for a little O-H … I-O practice since the end of last season, they have invariably discussed the team’s quarterback situation with the glee of a multimillionaire trying to decide whether to take his Porsche, Maserati or Bentley to Chipotle.
Their next topic isn’t accompanied by the same kind of blissful enthusiasm. While most anticipate a second national championship this season, most probably are worried that the certainty of it will prove to be the Buckeyes’ undoing.
Even coach Urban Meyer admits it is a reasonable fear. His Florida teams won national championships in 2006 and 2008, and neither repeated.
