When Billy Davis was hired, it seemed a bit questionable, given his background of getting fired by NFL teams, but he was reportedly very close with Urban Meyer, and a friend of Urban is a friend of Buckeye fans. Davis’ had a tumultuous tenure in Columbus, to put it kindly. His linebacker group frequently struggled with the speed of college football, and looked lost in Greg Schiano’s aggressive defensive scheme.
