Big Ten moving six games in 2017 season to Friday night lights

There is a Friday prime time football game coming in Ohio State’s future, perhaps as early as next year, though it won’t be for a home game in 2017, athletic director Gene Smith said.

But with its upcoming new television rights deal that includes the ESPN/ABC family of networks and Fox, the Big Ten is moving to schedule six Friday night games in 2017, and 12 Saturday night games, the Dispatch learned Wednesday.

“We are supportive of it,” Smith said of move. “We battles for a long time to try to be respectful obviously for high school football.
