Ohio State safety Vonn Bell is the Big Ten defensive player of the week, the conference announced this morning.
Bell scored his second touchdown of the season, on an interception return, in the Buckeyes' 28-14 victory over Minnesota. His 16-yard return in the second quarter was the game's first score. Previously he had a fumble return for a TD against Hawaii.
Bell also had 10 tackles, seven of them solos, against the Golden Gophers.
Bell is one of 16 semifinalists for the 2015 Jim Thorpe Award, given to the top defensive back in the nation.
