Big Ten football | Brady Hoke second-guesses Michigan's Harbaugh

Brady Hoke defeated Michigan State once in four tries as Michigan’s coach before he was fired in December.

But had he been in the hot seat for the Wolverines’ fourth down with 10 seconds left against the Spartans on Saturday, he said he could have sealed the victory.

Speaking on his SiriusXM radio show on Tuesday night, Hoke said he would not have punted, as Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh decided (which led to punter Blake O’Neill fumbling the ball to Jalen Watts-Jackson for a 38-yard touchdown with no time remaining, giving Michigan State a 27-23 victory).

“When you play armchair quarterback, the only thing I would say is you’ve got to play to the strength of your football team — and the strength of Michigan’s football team all year long has been their defense,” Hoke said.
