After 3 hours and 27 minutes of baseball in which 336 pitches were thrown and 11 pitchers were used, Ohio State coach Greg Beals wore the expression of a man who had gotten away with something.
The Buckeyes got oh-so-close to blowing a nine-run lead, but hung on by a pinkie finger to come away with a 13-12 victory over Maryland on Saturday afternoon at Bill Davis Stadium.
“It was draining,” Beals said. “It took a lot out of the guys. We used a lot to get that win. It was a win we needed to get for many reasons.
