J.T. Barrett earned back his starting role with his play against Penn State. The evidence is hard to ignore. The tempo, timing and determination were much better with him running the offense. Only Cardale Jones and his closest allies could make the case for him to remain the starter.
Buckeye Nation’s excitement with Urban Meyer’s announcement is understandable. Jones is a good quarterback, but Barrett is the unquestioned leader. Declaring him the permanent starter was inevitable.
I would not be surprised to learn that this was Meyer’s plan all along.
