Brian Bennett: If both Clemson and Alabama lost this weekend in their respective title games, then maybe Ohio State sneaks in. The Buckeyes would still need to worry about Stanford, which I believe would leapfrog past Ohio State if it wins the Pac-12 title game this weekend, and even North Carolina.
The committee only has the Tar Heels ranked 10th, and putting a team in the playoff that has two FCS wins and a loss to a brutally bad South Carolina team would be highly distasteful and, I believe, damaging to the sport.
