Graham Rahal thought the Ohio State football replica helmet he wore for the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Sunday would be a charm, and it worked out that way, as he drove to his third career victory.
But he’s not going to push his luck.
As far as he’s concerned, it’s won and done with that helmet as he seeks to run down Juan Pablo Montoya for his first IndyCar series championship. Rahal, a devoted Ohio State fan, doesn’t want it to face any more chance of damage.
“That one’s going to be nice race-worn (souvenir), sitting on my shelf the rest of its life.
