Analysis of Ohio State’s Special Teams Miscues and Which Injured Players Could Return to Action Against Michigan State

Ohio State isn't making any coaching changes on special teams right now.

Ryan Day said Tuesday that special teams coordinator Parker Fleming will continue to operate in that role despite several miscues this season and over the past few seasons, saying he thinks Fleming is “a great teacher and a great coach” while acknowledging that the Buckeyes’ special teams mistakes have been “unacceptable.”

On the most recent special teams miscue, a fourth-down run attempt by Jesse Mirco on a rollout punt that wasn't successful against Rutgers, Day said it was not supposed to be a fake punt and that the communication between coaches and players has to be better going forward.
