Ohio State’s bowl destination became more uncertain with Alabama’s win over Georgia in the SEC Championship Game.
While the Orange Bowl appeared to be the most likely destination for the Buckeyes if they didn’t make the College Football Playoff, that was contingent on Georgia beating Alabama. While the Bulldogs’ 27-24 loss to the Crimson Tide could bump them out of the top four, it’s unlikely to move them below Ohio State in the final CFP rankings, which means Georgia could now be in line for the Orange Bowl berth that goes to the highest-ranked SEC or Big Ten team that doesn’t make the playoff.
