It might technically be the offseason for college sports, but that just means that some of the Ohio State student-athletes have an opportunity to compete internationally in their various sports. The 2018 FIL World Lacrosse Championships gets underway on Thursday, July 12 and five Buckeyes (past and present) will compete on the World stage.
The World Games are taking place in Netanya, Israel, with the first matchup featuring a Buckeye kicking off at 9:30 a.m. with an Israel v. Jamaica showdown on ESPNU.
None of the competitors will suit up for Team USA, but four other countries will have some Scarlet and Gray representation, including Canada (Tre LeClaire, Jake Withers), Israel (Ryan Hunter), Philippines (Mario Ventiquattro), and Puerto Rico (Ricky Pages).
