Ohio State named Urban Meyer its 24th head coach on Nov. 28, 2011. Born in Toledo and raised in Ashtabula, Meyer returned to the great state of Ohio to resurrect a troubled Buckeyes' football program.
Heading into Ohio State's 100th season of Big Ten football, the team knew it was ineligible to win the Big Ten title and play in the postseason due to major NCAA infractions. Along with the ban, Ohio State faced scholarship reductions from 85 to 82 for the 2012, 2013 and 2014 seasons.
