Ohio State football's quarterback competition now appears to be a two-man race with news that Braxton Miller will focus is efforts on H-Back and punt returning -- leaving Cardale Jones and JT Barrett to compete for the starting role.

Braxton Miller told Pete Thamel he’ll focus on H-Back/PR. Falls in line w/word he had been unable to yet return to full throwing health.

As Schad puts it, this will make things a lot easier for the Buckeyes and head coach Urban Meyer on multiple levels:
So much easier for OSU to manage Cardale Jones-JT Barrett competition and adds another fantastic, dangerous weapon.

Braxton Miller also has an opportunity to increase his chances of making an impact in the NFL as a versatile weapon. Think Brad Smith.

The competition between JT Barrett and Cardale Jones could come down to that of Barrett's stature as an unquestioned team leader versus Cardale Jones' big arm/obvious athletic gifts. In the process, Miller will minimize the risk to his surgically-repaired right shoulder as he attempts to raise his NFL Draft stock.
This is all fascinating for sure. All we know now, however, is whoever wins between Jones and Barrett will have a heck of a dynamic weapon in Miller to utilize.
