The Ohio State Buckeyes won't have LB Darron Lee next season. The redshirt sophomore tweeted Saturday Night that he will enter the NFL Draft.
"After thorough research and careful consideration, I have decided to forgo my final two years of eligibility and enter the NFL Draft," Lee wrote. "I would like to thank Coach Meyer and Coach Fickell, as well as the rest of our coaching staff for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime that has changed my life forever. I feel it is in my best interest to take this next step in achieving my dream."
Lee could go in the first round of the NFL Draft and will likely be off the board by the end of Day Two. He projects as an OLB at the next level, with his best fit in a 4-3 scheme. However, he can play in a 3-4 system. He's one of several Buckeyes that will be taking his talents to the NFL.
He racked up 66 tackles this season, 11 of which went for a loss. He also had 4.5 sacks a pick and two fumble recoveries. In his last game as a Buckeye, Lee racked up seven tackles and two sacks against Notre Dame.
