The Ohio State Buckeyes have two spring practices left before their spring game on Saturday, which means the coaching staff is starting to figure just what they have on the roster this year. So with a few practices left, it's time for an update on how last week's spring practices went. With that in mind, here's our Ohio State Football Spring Practice Report.
Dwayne Haskins Stands Out
J.T. Barrett will be OSU's starter at QB next year, barring injury. But the backup role is up for grabs, with Dwayne Haskins and Joe Burrow. Eleven Warriors reports Haskins stood out at the scrimmage during student appreciation day Saturday, showing off his powerful arm. It remains a neck-and-beck battle between Burrow and Haskins for the backup job. But Haskins has shown flashes of impressive upside.
Jeffrey Okudah Can Fly
Ohio State likes to test the top-end speed of its players and true freshman defensive back Jeffrey Okudah is the fastest. He clocked in at 23.2 miles per hour, 1.1 mph faster than anyone else running. That's impressive speed and a welcome sign for an OSU defensive backfield down three potential first round NFL picks. He's expected to at least play some this year for the Buckeyes.
Dylan Thompson Hurt (Again)
The rough career of defensive lineman Dylan Thompson has hit another bump. It appears that Thompson is dealing with a leg injury.

The severity of the injury is unclear, but it's not a good sign give Thompson's history of injuries. He suffered a knee injury in 2014 that he wasn't fully recovered from in 2015 and was academically ineligible last year. Now in his fourth year, the former three-star recruit has yet to make an impact.
