We reached a recruiting dead period Sunday, which means contact between schools and players is severely limited for the next month. That made last weekend incredibly important for recruiting, and we're here to detail the biggest rumors around the Ohio State Buckeyes and their recruiting efforts.
- Dual-threat quarterback Tristen Wallace officially committed to the Oregon Ducks Sunday after visiting the school. Wallace had originally committed to Ohio State in April.
- With Wallace flipping to Oregon, the Buckeyes are amping up efforts to steal a Maryland recruit. Four-star QB Dwayne Haskins has been committed to Maryland since May 2015, but OSU is trying to flip him. Haskins visited the Buckeyes this weekend and Eleven Warriors is predicting that Haskins will end up flipping to Ohio State.
- Speaking of the Buckeyes trying to flip commits, Ohio State is trying lure three-star athlete Jashen Wint. He's been committed to Temple for a few months, but might just end up at Ohio State. Before the Buckeyes offered him, Wint's only other Division-I offer was from UMass. But now that the Buckeyes have offered, Wint told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that he's heard from schools like Alabama, Michigan, Penn State and Boston College. However, it sounds like it's down to the Buckeyes and Temple for Wint.
