Ohio State Buckeyes assistant coach Ryan Day was recruiting in Georgia late this past week, and offered a scholarship to 2020 athlete Cartavious Bigsby.
Ohio State has already offered a scholarship to Bigsby's teammate, four-star 2019 offensive lineman Keiondre Jones, and both players have the Buckeyes very high on their list, according to Bill Kurelic of 247sports.
Bigsby, who said the Buckeyes are recruiting him as an athlete right now, said he is planning to visit Ohio State though he is not sure when yet.
Bigsby said there is plenty he likes about Ohio State.
“Everything,” Bigsby began. “Great atmosphere. It’s a great school. A lot of things.”
“Both (Bigsby and Jones) are very interested in Ohio State,” a source close to the two told Bucknuts. “Bigsby is explosive. He is a ball-hawk on defense. He’s the true meaning of athlete. He could play running back, safety, or grow into a linebacker in college. He’s almost 6-foot-0, 185-pounds, and just 14 years old. He’s the real deal.
“Keiondre hasn’t been to Ohio State yet, hopefully he’ll get up there this summer. He’s a special kid – really humble. Emory is working on him. They live about 20 minutes apart.”
Jones is cousins with current Ohio State QB commit Emory Jones, who is helping recruit the 6-foot-4, 315-pounder. He is ranked as the No. 4 offensive guard and No. 80 overall prospect in the 2019 class by 247sports.
Bigsby already has offers from several schools, headlined by Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Florida, Michigan and Tennessee.
