Defensive lineman Adolphus Washington busted through the offensive line for four sacks this season for the Ohio State Buckeyes, but he was the one getting busted by the police Wednesday night. Washington was charged with a first-degree misdemeanor for solicitation.
Washington's court date is set for December 17th, and it's unclear if he'll play in the Buckeyes' bowl game. If the charge holds, it'd be surprising to see Washington play in the Fiesta Bowl.
"Disciplinary action will be handled internally," athletics communications spokesperson Jerry Emig said.
Emig said head coach Urban Meyer is "currently on the road recruiting and he'll address discipline once he's back."
Washington had a great season for the Buckeyes, and was named second-team All-Big Ten. He racked up 49 tackles, seven of which were for a loss on a Buckeyes' defensive line that was among the best in the nation. Washington has a chance to be a first round selection this in the NFL Draft, although it's more likely he'll be a Day 2 pick.
