The Ohio State Buckeyes put on a great performance defensively Friday night, winning 24-7 over the USC Trojans in the Cotton Bowl.
Ohio States defense allowed USC to gain 413 total yards, but forced three turnovers. The Buckeye offense put up only 279 yards and had only 13 first downs.

Quarterback Sam Darnold turned the ball over early putting the Trojans in a hole they couldn't climb out of. A huge turning point in this game came when Darnold was intercepted by cornerback Damon Webb and returned 23-yards for a touchdown.

It was all fun for the Buckeyes, who now end the season on a 5-game win streak to finish 12-2 on the season. Quarterback J.T. Barrett finished with 66 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries while running back J.K Dobbins rushed for 39 yards on 13 carries. Barrett also threw for 114 yards.
USC drops to 11-3 with the loss, snapping the Trojans five-game win streak. Running back Ronald Jones II and wide receiver Deontay Burnett were the only two Trojans who played well on offense. Jones rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown, while Burnett had 12 receptions for 139 yards.
