The Ohio State Buckeyes already have one of the best 2017 recruiting classes in the country, but head coach Urban Meyer is still trying to add to that. With just a few weeks before National Signing Day on Feb. 1, here are the three best uncommitted recruits that the Buckeyes could still land.
3) 4-star OT Thayer Munford (Massillon, OH)
Quite frankly, it will be a shock if Munford ends up somewhere other than Columbus. The Ohio native is being heavily recruited by both Kentucky and Pitt, but Ohio State is really heightening their recruiting efforts. Urban Meyer, Kevin Wilson and Greg Studrawa visited him on Saturday, which has only strengthened Ohio State's position.
2) 4-star DT Jay Tufele (South Jordan, UT)
At 6-foot-3 and 300 lbs, Tufele is the top-ranked player in the state of Utah. Ohio State and Michigan are pushing hard to get the massive defensive tackle to leave the state, though Utah is the favorite. Still, the Buckeyes are making a late push and are building off the momentum they got from Tufele's official visit, when he saw the Buckeyes beat Michigan.
1) 5-star DT Marvin Wilson (Bellaire, TX)
LSU, Ohio State, Florida State and Texas are locked in a tight race for Wilson, but Ohio State is making a late surge to challenge the perceived leader in LSU. Though he makes his mark as a run-stopper at 6'4" and 330 lbs, he's surprisingly quick for his size, allowing him to also be effective rushing the passer.
