The Ohio State Buckeyes and head coach Urban Meyer have reached an agreement with Notre Dame Fighting Irish running backs coach Tony Alford for him to take over the same position in Columbus, per a report by FootballScoop.com:
Urban got his guy…per source, Notre Dame’s Tony Alford plans to join the Ohio State staff http://t.co/sNnVtycOD5

The news was later corroborated by Thayer Evans of Sports Illustrated:
Notre Dame running backs coach Tony Alford has accepted same job at Ohio State per sources.

Alford was a major factor in Notre Dame landing yet another top 15 recruiting class for the 2015 recruiting cycle. He was the man in charge of the pursuits that brought in Irish commits Tevon Coney, Nicco Fertitta, and Dexter Williams. He was also one of the instrumental recruiters in bringing Josh Adams and Aliz'e Jones to South Bend.
Widely considered one of Notre Dame's best recruiters and a top-notch RBs coach to boot, Alford will have big shoes to fill with Stan Drayton having moved on to take the Chicago Bears running backs coach job. However, Alford's track record is pretty stellar in its own right, giving Urban Meyer yet another solid-to-great recruiter on his staff.
