The Ohio State Buckeyes dominated their competition in 2014 and won the inaugural College Football Playoff. With most of that team returning, there’s no reason to think Ohio State won’t repeat as national champions. However, that doesn't mean they won't face several tough tests during the season. Here are the three most important games on their schedule:
September 7 at Virginia Tech Hokies
The Hokies were the only team that beat Ohio State last year, and the Buckeyes desperately want to get revenge. This will be the first game of the year for both teams, and while Ohio State will be heavily favored, anything can happen when you're playing on the road in a hostile environment. Starting the season with a statement win would set the tone for the remainder of 2015 for the Buckeyes.
November 21 vs. Michigan State Spartans
Both Michigan State and Ohio State are expected to compete for the College Football Playoff, meaning the winner of this game would get a leg up on the other in competing for the Big Ten title and national championship. The Buckeyes managed to upset the Spartans in East Lansing last year and being at home should give them the advantage again.
November 28 at Michigan Wolverines
Records always go out the window when these two teams get together, but Michigan should be improved under new head coach Jim Harbaugh, adding another layer of intrigue to this rivalry.
