Jerron Cage, one of the the top defensive lineman in the Class of 2017, planned to meet with Ohio State football coaches if he made the state wrestling tournament on OSU's campus this weekend.
However, suffered a knee injury and didn't make the state tournament, so he won't be visiting the Buckeyes coaching staff.
Cage did speak with head coach Urban Meyer to let him know he wasn't coming this time, but he does plan to make a trip to Columbus in April.
“I won’t get up there this weekend, but I think I’ll get up to Ohio State sometime in April,” Cage said. “I also want to get up to Michigan State (in April).”
Cage has not received an offer from Ohio State, but Meyer let Cage know he's very interested in him. The 6'3", 260-pounder currently has scholarship offers from Louisville, Kentucky, Cincinnati and Illinois.
