The Ohio State Buckeyes' spring game on April 18th is going to be exciting for many reasons, but it also could provide a major opportunity for Urban Meyer and the coaching staff to curry favor with a top 2017 defensive tackle prospect.
Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods defensive lineman Jerron Cage wanted to visit Columbus during his spring break this past week, but a family situation nixed those plans.
"We had some family work stuff so I wasn’t able to make it up there,” Cage said, via 247Sports. “I wasn’t able to make it to Ohio State or Michigan State.”
However, Cage still lists Ohio State and Michigan State as his two favorites, and he's hoping to make it to Columbus for the program's spring game in two weeks.
"There’s a strong chance I’ll get to Ohio State’s spring game,” Cage said. “I have to talk to coach (Kerry) Coombs about it. And I might go to Michigan State’s spring game with (Spartan 2015 signee and teammate) Noah Listermann.”
Michigan State's spring game will be held the week after Ohio State's annual showcase.
