With under two week to go until February 4th's National Signing Day, Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes' coaching staff are approaching crunch time. The first-ever College Football Playoff champions have plenty of momentum on the recruiting trail, but there's still a lot of work to be done with the days ticking down.
Who are the Buckeyes targeting? Who have they offered? Find out in our Ohio State Football Recruiting: Rumors Roundup For Friday 1/23.
Buckeyes add another name to their 2016 offer list
Ohio State officially offered 2016 four-star Nashville (TN) outside linebacker Daniel Bituli on Thursday, adding the Buckeyes to an impressive list of scholarship offers from the likes of Auburn, Oklahoma, Tennessee, LSU, and Ole Miss.
The #8-ranked outside LB in the Class of 2016 (per 247Sports) has two schools at the front of his mind after their recent offers - Auburn and OSU.
"They're always contenders for a championship and take pride in winning," Bituli said.
Bituli also plays running back at Nashville Christian School and has only been playing football competitively for a short time.
Meyer can't stop, won't stop on the recruiting trail
Head coach Urban Meyer has been an extremely busy man after the team's championship win, with his last stop of a recruiting whirlwind coming in Northwest Ohio on Thursday.
Meyer and defensive coordinator Luke Fickell visited Toledo Central Catholic to visit two coveted 2017 recruits - running back Michael Warren and two-way lineman James Hudson.
Both Hudson and Warren have been invited to Ohio State's junior day on Sunday, and are expected to attend if the two can worked around scheduling conflicts with their high school's basketball team.
Warren rushed for an eye-popping 2,246 yards and 28 touchdowns last season, while the 6'4", 250-pound Hudson has a unique combination of athleticism and size that has served him well as both an offensive tackle and defensive end at Central Catholic.
Michael Weber to visit Columbus this weekend
Four-star Detroit (MI) Cass Technical running back and Buckeyes commit Michael Weber has been the center of attention as of late, with Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines' attempt to flip him causing some uneasiness around Columbus.
However, Weber is scheduled to visit Columbus this weekend along with some younger Cass Tech hopefuls and OSU commits (most notably offered 2017 WR Donovan Peoples-Jones and committed 2015 DE/OG Joshua Alabi), and Cass Tech head coach Thomas Wilcher has confirmed to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports that he remains solid in his commitment to the Buckeyes.
