The Ohio State Buckeyes have a coveted JuCo offensive lineman in their recruiting crosshairs, extending an offer to Garden City (NY) Nassau Community College offensive tackle Malcolm Pridgeon.
The 6-foot-8, 303-pound lineman comes from the same school as former Buckeyes OL target Chad Mavety. He ended up signing with the Florida State Seminoles in 2014, but that's not nearly enough to stop Urban Meyer and his staff from targeting other fast-rising lineman from the same school.
However, don't expect it to be easy for Ohio State this go-around. Pridgeon is garnering major interest from a litany of intriguing programs.
"My first year at Nassau went great," he said to 247Sports. "I could always do better and I have been working hard this off-season to improve. Spring ball this year is going to be strong for me.
"I have offers from Central Florida, Cincinnati, Temple, Virginia Tech, Stony Brook, Kentucky, North Texas, Marshall, Rutgers, Arizona State, Louisville, and most recently Ohio State and Alabama."
However, Ohio State has at least piqued his interest.
"With Ohio State, on Wednesday my coach told me he was friends with their offensive line coach, Ed Warinner, and that they were interested," Pridgeon said. "I sent him a text message and then he called us up. We had a big discussion about grades and he told me what I needed to get done in the classroom, but he offered me. I have a lot to learn about Ohio State, but I want to visit after spring ball to check out the campus."
Pridgeon added that there's no leader for his signature, but offered Ohio State, Alabama, Louisville, and Arizona State up as the offers currently sticking out the most to him right now.
