The Ohio State Buckeyes took care of an underrated Minnesota Golden Gophers team on the road on Saturday, surviving the elements and a dynamic Minnesota rushing attack en route to a 31-24 victory.
After the win, Urban Meyer did his best to sell the College Football Playoff committee on the 9-1 Buckeyes.
"I'd like to see anybody in the country come up and do this," Meyer said after the win, via Bill Landis of the Northeast Ohio Media Group. "Come up in November. Any team in the country wants to schedule this one November against a really good team, have at it. That's our message."
As Landis points out, Meyer understands the value of his pulpit in Columbus. By using his words and the statement is team makes on the field in the press, he's bound to influence some of the 13 members of the College Football Playoff committee.
Couple that with losses and uncertainty ahead of them in the standings, and Urban Meyer's Buckeyes have a puncher's chance to make the final four by season's end.
