Ohio State's freshman quarterback J.T. Barrett has gained the attention of the nation with his stellar play since taking over for the injured Braxton Miller at the beginning of the 2014 season.
Apparently his performance has not gone unnoticed in East Lancing, where he has at least one fan on Michigan State's squad.
During Tuesday's news conference, Spartans senior linebacker Taiwan Jones stated that he thinks Barrett is a "way better quarterback" than Braxton Miller.
Although he later clarified that Miller is the better athlete between the two, he believes "(Barrett) fits better for that offense."
Barrett has posted 29 total touchdowns and over 2,200 yards in eight starts this year. After his rocky start in an upset loss to Virginia Tech, Barrett has helped the Buckeyes win six games in a row - a streak that has seen the freshman score 25 touchdowns compared to just three turnovers.
Jones and the Spartans defense will get a firsthand look at Barrett and the Buckeyes offense on Saturday when they host Ohio State in a crucial Big Ten matchup.
Both teams come into that game with a 7-1 record and perfect 4-0 in the conference.
