Buckeyes Football News: Noah Spence Suspension Update, Meyer Comments On Practice Status

In this Buckeyes football news and rumors update, Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer remains supportive of indefinitely suspended defensive end Noah Spence, including allowing Spence to remain with the team as the junior awaits judgment on his eligibility going forward.

Spence failed a second drug test last week, leading to an indefinite suspension after an initial three-game ban for his first positive test. Regardless, Meyer is doing everything he can to provide emotional support to the youngster.

"Yeah, he actually practiced today," Meyer said, via . "He's doing things to get healthy, but he's also -- you know, we're supporting him."

Per a source cited by ESPN.com's Adam Rittenberg, Spencer is a "long shot" to return to the Ohio State roster. However, until that is made official, Spencer can still participate in team activities.

"You know, the only comment I'll make on the whole situation is that it's a tough deal for Noah and his family and we're going to support him the best we can throughout the situation," co-defensive coordinator Chris Ash stated on Saturday. "If he gets an opportunity to play football again one day, great. But we're here to help him receive the help that he needs."

Spence is entitled to an appeal regardless of what ruling comes down, so stay tuned.
