The Ohio State Buckeyes are set to open the 2015 season on Monday night against Virginia Tech, the first game of their title defense. While this season is sure to be an exciting one for the Buckeyes, last season's national championship run was one of the most thrilling years in school history.
So, before we move forward, let's take a second to reflect. Here are the five best moments from Ohio State's championship season:
5) Joey Bosa's Game-Ending Sack vs. Penn State
Playing in Happy Valley is always tough, especially against a desperate Penn State team. However, the Buckeyes survived after this sack ended a double-OT thriller.
4) J.T. Barrett vs. Michigan State
This game not only served as Barrett's coming-out party and made him a Heisman contender, but it also put Ohio State back in contention for the College Football Playoff.
3) Ezekiel Elliott Runs Over Alabama
Ohio State had "no chance" to beat the No. 1 team in the country without their top two quarterbacks, right? Not if Ezekiel Elliott had anything to say about it.
2) Beating Wisconsin 59-0 After Kosta Karageorge Tragedy
Ohio State defensive lineman Kosta Karageorgia had been missing for days and was found dead of an apparent suicide in a trash bin near his apartment the night before the Big Ten Championship Game, but instead of packing it in, the Buckeyes took it to another level and absolutely demolished Wisconsin.
1) Dominating Win Over Oregon
"This team wasn't supposed to do this," Meyer said. "I've watched football for a long time … I've never seen anything like it.”
