Your Ohio State Buckeyes football recruiting news update for October 14th:
Four-star New London (NC) North Stanly running back Antonio Williams decommitted from the Wisconsin Badgers on Wednesday. With an unofficial visit to Ohio State slated for this weekend, rumors around Columbus are swirling about a potential commitment to the Buckeyes.
“We’ll see,” Williams said, via 247Sports. “My dad and I and my coach go up Saturday. It’s an unofficial visit, but I might come back soon after on an official. I’m just taking a visit and going to enjoy a good game and see what happens.”
Ohio State plays Penn State at The Horseshoe on Saturday. Williams will head home during the afternoon on Sunday.
“This will be my first time up there,” Williams said. “I’m very excited – especially for the game. I want to get a feel for the campus and see how I fit in.”
Williams does have a long-standing relationship built up with Buckeyes running backs coach Tony Alford. That should serve as a big help as Ohio State looks to complete a full flip.
“I’ve known him for two years now,” Williams said. “I’ve known him since he was at Notre Dame.”
Williams is currently ranked as the #5 running back in the Class of 2016 by 247Sports' Composite Rankings.
