Saturday's 42-13 annhilation of the #10 Michigan Wolverines taught us one thing about the #8 Ohio State Buckeyes -- they're just as dangerous and championship-worthy as they were last year. There's no earthly way that the College Football Playoff committee should deny the defending champs, at least in our minds. Here's 3 Reasons Why Ohio State Should Be FURIOUS If They Don't Make The College Football Playoff.
3. An Undeniable Statement
Ohio State didn't just beat a top-ten opponent when they upended Michigan on Saturday. They thoroughly embarrassed and DESTROYED a streaking rival, rewriting the entire narrative of the Wolverines' season with one epic beatdown. Ohio State rushed for a daffy 369 yards on a celebrated UM defense, with RB Ezekiel Elliott and JT Barrett combining for 353 of those and five rushing touchdowns.
This was against the FBS' FOURTH-BEST run defense. In a high-pressure game. On the road. How exactly can the CFP deny OSU, Big Ten title game appearance or not, after this kind of performance?
2. Until Proven Otherwise
We're a firm believer in the old Ric Flair adage: "In order to beat the man, you have to beat the man! WOOOOO!" One three-point loss to Michigan State should not end OSU's title hunt, ESPECIALLY if other one-loss teams like Oklahoma and Notre Dame find themselves in line to make the field (more on that later). If there's even one other single-loss team in the field, Ohio State NEEDS to be there. Call it the defending champs advantage.

1. Twisted Logic
Ohio State has one misstep against an inspired Michigan State squad and they get dropped all the way from #3 to #8 in Tuesday's rankings reveal. Oklahoma got outclassed by a putrid Texas squad and just BARELY escaped a undermanned TCU team last week and they jumped four spots to #3. What is going on here?!?!
If the committee really takes both bodies of work and a team's ability to hang with the big dogs into account, why is a proven commodity like Ohio State on the edge of CFP contention?
Human error, that's why.
