The Ohio State Buckeyes rebounded from a disappointing outing against Indiana with a total beatdown of Maryland last weekend, and they're looking to continue that momentum this weekend against Penn State. Here are three reasons why Ohio State will beat the Nittany Lions on Saturday:
3) Ohio State seems to have a quarterback solution with the 2 QB system
While Cardale Jones has taken plenty of grief this season, he's been the superior passer to J.T. Barrett, completing 63 percent of his passes for seven TDs and six INTs against Barrett's 58 percent for two TDs and two picks. Meanwhile, Barrett is the better and more agile runner ,averaging seven yards per carry with three TDs.
Both have made appearances this season and both are talented enough to start on numerous college football teams, so Urban Meyer smartly started using a true two-quarterback system against Maryland, using Barrett down in the red zone and in running situations whith Jones still being the primary QB. They gashed the Terps with that system, and seems to be the thing to do going forward.
2) Joey Bosa vs. Penn State's offensive line
Penn State's offense line has been one of the worst in the country over the past year and half, and that means Joey Bosa - who can't be stopped by great offensive lines - should have a field day in PSU's backfield. Expect him to be THE impact player in this game.
1) Ezekiel Elliott's dominance
The Buckeyes have leaned on Elliott for much of the season, and for good reason. He's racked up 835 yards and 10 TDs on 121 carries, averaging an impressive seven yards per carry. OSU is trying to limit his touches to about 25 per game, which makes sense since they need him to be fresh for a postseason run. However, he's still their best offensive player - look for him to get most of his carries early as Ohio State takes a big early lead.
