The spring track and field season is a distance race, not a short sprint, as described by Ohio coach Clay Calkins.
This sentiment did not stop the Bobcats from being fast out of the gate, dominating the Spire North Coast Open in Geneva, OH this past weekend.
The Bobcats competed against Daemen College, Penn State Behrend, Carnegie-Mellon, Cuyahoga Community College and Lake Erie College athletes at this event.
While the meet was not scored, Ohio had eight different winners, seven in second and five more following in third.
“We are already ahead of where we were at this point last year,” said Calkins.
