CLEVELAND — Antonio Campbell has been called many things this season as a member of the Ohio University men’s basketball team.
Big Tone. Mr. Motor-meter. The Big Barometer. Bo Jackson. They’re all nicknames, or monikers, bestowed upon Campbell — a 6-foot-10 forward — by teammates and coaches over the past season.
Now there’s a new one: 2016 MAC Player of the Year.
Campbell was named the Player of the Year by the conference office on Wednesday. He won a panel vote (head coaches and media) by securing 18 of 36 first-place votes. Toledo senior center Nathan Boothe was second, and garnered 16 first-place votes.
