Savannah Jo Dorsey cemented her status as one of the university's greatest pitchers after earning two wins Tuesday against Kent State, her 55th and 56th career wins. Dorsey passed Emily Wethington for most career wins as a pitcher in Ohio softball history.
Dorsey didn't have any idea she was approaching the record, though.
"It's kind of surprising," Dorsey said. "They always kind of spring this stuff on me. We don't ever have records in our minds, but it's exciting."
On a day when both coach Jodi Hermanek and Dorsey herself said Dorsey wasn't at her best, Dorsey pitched every inning of a doubleheader, struck out 23 batters, gave up just three runs on five hits and walked three batters.
