The Virginia Cavaliers needed to touch the ball just three times in the first quarter Saturday in Nashville to effectively take down the Ohio Bobcats.
Virginia defeated Ohio 45-31 with each of its first three scores coming from one-play drives in the first quarter. The Bobcats eventually settled in, but too little, too late: the nine minutes of game time it took for Virginia’s three early scores all but put Ohio out of the game.
“Slow start, just didn’t play well on either side of the ball at the beginning,” Ohio head coach Frank Solich said after the game.
