With 3:56 left in the second half, Ohio Bobcat point guard Jaaron Simmons stepped to the line after a media timeout. As Simmons prepare to take his two free throws, the Bobcat men's team trailed by one and had just watched as Northern Illinois erased a 16-point halftime deficit over the course of the second half.
Simmons swished both attempts to give Ohio a one-point lead, and over the final few minutes, he continued to push forward and take over the game.
Simmons, in fact, scored or assisted on 15 of Ohio’s last 16 points as Ohio beat NIU 80-69.
