Rourke named to Maxwell Award list

Now, Ohio’s junior quarterback is starting to earn recognition on some of college football’s player of the year lists.

Rourke was named to the 82nd Maxwell Award watch list on Monday. The award, named for Robert ‘Tiny’ Maxwell, has been given to America’s college football player of the year since 1937.

Rourke was certainly one of the most productive players in the country last year. He set Ohio single-season records in rushing touchdowns (21), points scored (132), touchdowns scored (22) and touchdowns accounted for (39). Rourke threw for 2,203 yards and 17 touchdowns, ran for 912 yards and 21 scores, and even notched one touchdown reception.
