Last season was a step in the right direction for the Ohio Bobcats, who finished second in the Mid-American Conference’s Eastern Division with an 8-5 record. The season ended with a 31-29 loss to Appalachian State in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl, but the eight wins for Ohio marked a two-game improvement from the previous season. It represented an encouraging turnaround considering the youthfulness across the roster.
With most of its key starters returning for the upcoming season, anything short of a MAC championship will disappoint Frank Solich’s squad, a feat his program has yet to accomplish since his arrival in Athens in 2005.
